surgery announcements
hey ladies and gent
In case you didn't hear, even though i'm sure you did, there is no surgery class today, 09/23, because Dr. Banez has a burn case at FEU.
He did said that Burns will still be on the midterm and suggested we read Schwartz. He did say I could get his powerpoint but was concerned about the rest of the class getting a copy as well. I assured him however that I would let the class know that I had it and it would be available to them if they wanted it as well. We've got a system and plus that would be just plain wrong, who does that??. So, if you would like a copy, you can contact me and Ephrim will also put it on the site if you are lazy like myself and wouldn't want to trek all the way to my place to get it =)
y
ps. he didnt say when he would be at school exactly just that it would be in the afternoon but as soon as I get it, you'll get it =)

PRELIM calculation for Microbio
(# correct on theoretical x 0.83) + # correct on practical = total score
Ex: You scored 60 out of 120 on theoretical & 15 out of 20 on practical, then (60 x 0.83) + 15 = 64.8
Ex: You scored 60 out of 120 on theoretical & 15 out of 20 on practical, then (60 x 0.83) + 15 = 64.8

DON'T FORGET PHARMA EXPERIMENT TOPIC
Must bring Pharma Research Topic to Class on MONDAY!!!!
we would like to see the following :
1. TOPIC/IDEA
A topic concerning the use of VIRGIN COCONUT OIL as a pharaceutical agent, anti-microbial, anti-viral, use for lowering cholesterol, etc.... these are just some ideas.
2. PAPER on the EXPERIMENT
Published scientific/medical journals are perferred as the source of these papers
*****KEEP INTO CONSIDERATION: the experiments must be simple enough to duplicate and $$$ because we will be performing these in lab next semester*****
We are falling short on time and need to have this done ASAP! We need EVERYONE to contribute to the project. After all, this is for a group experiment ... therefore EVERYONE must put in the effort! Thank you

Patho score (how to count it)
prelim score*factor+prelim practical score = ture prelim score
this time factor is 0.96
eq. if your prelim score is 60 and your prelim practical score is 15
60*0.96+15 = 72.6 (ture prelim score)
prelim 20% + midterm 20% + final 35% = 75%
plating 15% + lab performance(inculd manual) 10% = 25%

Medicine I grouping
07/03/06
--Concerning Medicine I grouping--
The grouping for medicine I will be selected in alphabetical order and divided into groups of 6-7 students. There was a concern amongst some students that they may not be groupped with a tagalog speaking student. Ellen and myself (James) looked at the class list and realized that in dividing the class into 5 groups in alphabetical order; each group will contain at least 1 tagalog speaking student, with the exception of 1 one group. We will submit a list to the department to request that a tagalog speaking student can be moved to this group.
Any other concerns in Medicine I please contact the student coordinator: Andrea De Mesa-- call her at any time of the night preferably 2-3 am! haha JK! Contact Ellen, James, or Andrea... THANK YOU
